GP Earnings


All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Hopwood House Medical Practice in the last financial year was £60,555 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 0 full time GPs and 4 part time GPs and 0 locum GPs who worked in the practice for ings more than six months.

Friends and Family Test


From December 2014 it is a contractual requirement that all GP Practices undertake the NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT).  Practices are required to provied patients with the opportunity to give anonymous feedback using a standard worded questionnaire plus one follow up question.  The responses will be published on the website and reported to NHS England on a monthly basis.


The question asks if you are extremely likely, likely, neither likely or unlikely, unlikely or extremely unlikely to recommend the Practice to family and friends.

Prescription ordering -

You can order your medication by post or in person, you can also order online via Patient Access.  You need to register for this service and our reception staff will be happy to help you.

If you are over 70 years of age you can order your medication by telephone.

If you care for a vulnerable patient there is an alternative email address where you can request medication, please contact the surgery for this.


You can ring for test results between 12pm - 2pm and 5pm - 6pm Monday to Friday.

7.30am - 6.30pm Monday - Friday


Out of Hours - ring 1-1-1


We now have extra appointments available with the Practice Nurse or Phlebotomist between 7.30am to 8.00am
